| Acadia Park Chief to Speak On “No Child Left Inside” |

WINTER HARBOR — Acadia National Park Superintendent Sheridan Steele will speak at the “2nd Saturday” lecture series at the Moore Auditorium on the campus of the Schoodic Education and Research Center on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m.
The title of Steele’s presentation is “Mother Nature Knows Best: No Child Left Inside.” Steele will discuss the variety of reasons that children are not playing outdoors much, and the implications that this will have on the mental, physical and spiritual health of future generations. Steele will also outline a number of initiatives that Acadia National Park is undertaking to try to combat these trends and develop new stewards for the national parks. The lecture is sponsored by Acadia National Park, Acadia Partners for Science and Learning and the Schoodic Committee of Friends of Acadia as part of a monthly (more frequent in summer) lecture series.
